Cai will join the Diversity and Disparities Professional Interest Panel
Before ISTAART 2024, Dongming Cai will join the Diversity and Disparities Professional Interest Panel in Philadelphia on July 27th. Addressing Considerations for the conduct of just and equity-centering ADRD research using biological data, the panel will apply an intersectional lens of equity in ADRD research, health, and healthcare to AD research, focusing on biologically grounded factors while avoiding the perpetuation of biological essentialism and bias.
Dr. Cai's experience building teams to conduct safe, inclusive, and equity-centered ADRD research that integrates biological data will provide valuable insight. The group will consider what it takes to develop a team with the distinct training, expertise, and concordance of lived experience and language essential for equity-centered research.
